Overall 2017 was a fantastic year for Lewis County. The amount of homes on the market went down slightly making prices higher than ever. There was a consistent amount of new listings for the year, and sold homes were on the rise. Below are some of the top statistics for 2017:
As you can tell, the number of homes decreased slightly from January 2017 with 982 to December 2017 with 868, with an overall decrease of -2.69%. At the same time home prices increased going from $154,500 in January of 2017 to $175,000 in December of 2017 going up 13.27%. With the low inventory the number of days on the market also decreased 38.18% with the average number of days in January 2017 being 55 and December 2017 being at just 34 days. The higher prices also drive a higher cost per square feet increasing 15.6% from January to December 2017.
The sales in Lewis Co. are strong with sellers continually getting an average of 97.78% of list price for the year of 2017. With the average 2017 home priced at $162,297 the seller would have received $158,694.
